Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

Punky continues to be obsessed with horses.
“Mommy, I think I want to buy a horse,” she said for the millionth time while I was getting ready the other day. “I think I want to buy a Palorino. Can I, Mommy? Can I buy one?”
“Well, horses are verrrry expensive,” I said. “You’ll have to start saving your money.”
“I know they’re esspensive, Mommy,” Punky said knowledgeably. “Palorinos cost about 30 dollars. And that’s a lot of money. But where will we get the money, Mommy?”
“Well, you can start doing jobs around the house,” I suggested. “You could make your bed every day and clean your room and start earning money for your horse.”
She looked at me uncomprehendingly. Clearly, that idea had already been rejected as ridiculous.
“Do you have 30-dollars, Mommy?” she asked hopefully.
“Nope,” I said. “I don’t.”
Punky thought for a moment. “I know!” she said, dancing excitedly from one foot to the other. “I know where we can buy some money!”
“Where?”
“At Mickle Donalds!” she squealed.
“McDonalds?” I asked.
“Yes, Mickle Donalds! They give you money in the window! We’ll go there and buy some money!”
If only it were that simple.
