Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

>Several years ago, Hubs and I went to a funeral visitation of an old friend of his.
We made the rounds during the visit and talked to the guests, most of whom Hubs knew and I didn’t.
At one point, a woman I didn’t know walked up to Hubs and hugged him. For quite a while.
What in the world?! I thought to myself. Who is this?! What does she think she’s doing?! HELLO, does she not see ME, THE WIFE standing right here?! Accordingly, I stared at her in profound irritation as her eyes met mine.
“I’m so sorry,” Hubs said to her as she released him. “You must be in shock right now. Are your boys okay?”
It was the dead man’s wife.
It was also one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.
And I have no idea why I just told you that story.
Except that maybe it will help you the next time you make a massive social faux pas. Just think of this tale and realize…
IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE.
