Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

>”We need to talk about those vacations you were planning,” my mom said on the phone today.
“What vacations?” I asked.
“You said that you and Hubs wanted to take two short weekend trips in the year after the baby is born, rather than your annual weeklong trip together. Since you’ll be nursing.”
“Oh, yeah,” I said. “I haven’t even thought about the details of that yet.” I had, after all, just told her the sad story of how the insurance company had decided today that our car, involved in a small wreck on Friday night that injured no one and wasn’t our fault, was totalled.
“Good,” she said, “because I just don’t think I’m up to watching the babies for you anymore. My back could go out at any minute.”
It’s been one of those weeks.
