Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

I’ve noticed some troubling hair changes now that I’m getting older. There’s the gray hair thing (NOT READY FOR THAT!), the thinning (I don’t think I’m losing hair, necessarily, but I DO think what I shed is taking a lot longer to grow back now), and most recently, I started noticing a change in my hair’s texture. Once sleek and shiny, my hair had become sort of… dry and frizzy. Ugh.
I tried every deep conditioner and hair mask I could find, but nothing really seemed to help.
And then one day, the good Lord sent me a miracle. And lo! The miracle was inexpensive! And I’m not kidding you when I say that my hair has never looked better.
So I made a little video about it! Enjoy!
P.S. I have bought this hair mask here and here, if you’re looking for links!

This comprehensive guide to hair masks is exactly what my routine was missing! I particularly appreciated the science-backed breakdown of ingredients for different hair types—finally understanding why my curls crave shea butter over protein. The budget-friendly DIY option with coconut oil and honey has already revived my dry ends. As someone who’s tried countless salon treatments, I’m amazed by these results. Would love to see a follow-up on seasonal mask adjustments. A must-read for anyone pursuing salon-quality hair at home!
