Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

Capriotti’s provided the food for this post.
There are so many new restaurants opening in Nashville lately that it’s hard to keep track, but I’ve been wanting to try Capriotti’s ever since reading about it in the Nashville Scene. As food writer Chris Chamberlain tells it, when he informed people who were familiar with Capriotti’s that one was opening here, he got the same reaction as when he told Ohioans that Jeni’s was opening in Nashville: SHEER, UTTER ECSTASY.
That was all I needed to know.
Capriotti’s wants you to consider them when you’re coming up with a food plan for your Super Bowl get-together. We got to sample some of their Super Bowl options last night and I can say without hesitation that Capriotti’s truly would be an excellent choice for Super Bowl catering, particularly if you’re thinking of handling the food for your Super Bowl party on your own. Girl, don’t do it. I’ve been there. ORDER OUT and enjoy the game!
We tried Capriotti’s signature sandwich, The Bobbie (pictured above), which includes homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. I have to admit, I loathe stuffing in general — Yet I enjoyed this sandwich. I imagine that if I didn’t loathe stuffing in general, I would have loved this sandwich. It’s a winner, for sure.
Our second sandwich was the Homemade Meatball Sub. It was a messy affair, and still, we couldn’t stop eating it — The meatballs were fantastic. I WANT MORE.
The clear winner of the night, though, was the Capastrami. Loaded with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw, it was just… the bomb. IT WAS THE BOMB, PEOPLE. I would go back to Capriotti’s just for this sandwich.
Capriotti’s also has surprisingly good clam chowder that’s loaded with clams, as well as yummy oversized cookies and brownies. For those watching your calories, they have salads. The Chopped Salad, with chopped iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, provolone cheese, fresh chopped basil, salami, capacolla, pepper ham, black olives, and red wine vinaigrette, looks especially good.
For larger groups, Capriotti’s offers a catered Meatball Bar. Your guests can build their own meatball sub with those yummy meatballs simmered in homemade marinara sauce. The meatballs come with sliced provolone, Romano cheese and baked rolls. Or try a party tray of sandwiches in any combination. You can call in your order or order online.
Finally, one note you may or may not want to consider if you get your sandwiches to go — I wrapped our sandwiches in aluminum foil and heated them in the oven at 350 degrees and the Capastrami and Bobbie sandwiches were PERFECT. The Meatball probably could have gone 15 minutes. Keep that in mind when you’re planning dinner or a party.
Enjoy!
