Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.
December 14, 2015
I still remember signing up for an email account for the very first time – on Yahoo Mail. That was about 20 years ago (when I was one year old, of course) and things on the Internet have changed a LOT over the last two decades – but one thing has remained the same: my Yahoo Mail account.
I admit, I’ve tried competing email services over the years, but I’ve always come back to Yahoo Mail. Its interface has always been the easiest to navigate and it’s generally the first to incorporate major new features (Remember that time Yahoo Mail gave us all pretty much unlimited email storage for free? THAT WAS AWESOME.) Yahoo Mail makes changes and improvements to its email system all the time, but those changes are always easy to figure out, and that has made me one very happy customer.
That’s why I’m happy to tell you all about the newly redesigned Yahoo Mail app, which is fast, beautiful, and intuitive. Here are a few things I like about the new Yahoo Mail app:
Yahoo Mail has also made it even easier to add multiple photos or videos to an email from your smartphone’s camera roll- All you have to do is tap on the + sign. I use this feature all the time. And if you’re like me and e-mail yourself photos, notes, or reminders, Yahoo Mail has made it much easier- Simply hold down the compose button and you’ll automatically open an email addressed to yourself!
Another new feature I love is that Yahoo Mail maintains all the contact information from anyone who has sent me an email, whether I’ve added them to my address book or not. All I have to do is start typing that person’s name in the ‘To:’ box and his or her name and e-mail address comes right up. This has saved me so much time.
Best of all, Yahoo Mail is totally okay with the fact that I’ve strayed over the years. Even though I’ve opened accounts using other email services, I’ve easily added them to my Yahoo Mail account when I’ve come back to Yahoo Mail. It’s the best way to get Yahoo Mail (and your other mailboxes like AOL, Hotmail, Outlook, Gmail) on your phone and tablet. Consequently, I now get emails from several different email accounts in one handy inbox.
