>Cheeseburgher: The Aftermath

  1. Kathy N. says:

    >I’m still loving your ongoing narrative about your early days in network news. It makes me a feel a little more kindly towards my local news team; maybe they are up against more than I realize! On babysitting, I wanted to remind your Nashville readers, esp. if they live near Vanderbilt, to check out Vandy’s student hiring website http://www.vanderbilt.edu/studentemployment/. During my family’s year in Nashville we had a steady stream of the nicest, smartest, most responsible young ladies I could have ever hoped for. That website is an amazing resource that, strangely, many colleges don’t offer their students or their communities.

  2. Kate says:

    >The late parent thing makes me CRAZY! Our PTA just put together a policy because we have so many parents who seem to think it’s ok to just leave the kid. If you’re late by less than 10 minutes, you get one more chance. After the second time or more than 10 minutes…your kid is out of the class, and your money is gone.My daughter’s gymnastics class treat it like daycare does. We’ll keep your kids, but it’s 5 bucks a minute after 5 minutes. So sad that people are so self-absorbed.

  3. >I can’t believe that mom just left her kid there for so long after the class let out. It’s a good thing the kid was used to it; when I was little, that would have freaked me out!

  4. bereccah says:

    >that’s so disturbing about the late mom. i don’t get it either. my other favorite is when you see a kid in a parking lot lagging about thirty feet behind their parent, who generally does not seem to be concerned about there whereabouts. mine are five and seven and thinking about being 45 minutes late picking them up from anywhere makes me start sweating!
