Great Nashville Family Valentine’s Day Idea: Peter and the Wolf at TPAC

If you are of a certain age, you probably remember the tremendous excitement you felt each year in elementary school when the reel-to-reel projector was wheeled into your classroom for the annual viewing of Peter and the Wolf.

I saw that Disney movie so many times that the music now provides a sort of mental soundtrack for many of my childhood memories. And I’m thrilled that they’re still teaching Peter and the Wolf in music classes today- Both of my kids are very familiar with the music and storyline, as well as each symphony instrument that represents a character.

So, I couldn’t think of anything more fun (not to mention educational) than to take them to see Peter and the Wolf at TPAC’s Polk Theater on Valentine’s Day, featuring both the Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Symphony.

Peter and the Wolf is a wonderful way to introduce your child to both the symphony and the ballet- The symphony is actually providing live music for this production for the first time in years.

Peter and the Wolf will have two showings at TPAC on February 14th at 12:30 and 2:00. Tickets are $23 for adults and $16 for children 12 and under.
