Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

>how about being a SAHSOAM?(that’s stay at home sister of a mom)
>Nah. Can’t be that hard. I know lots of guys who stay home and drink beer all day long. What’s hard about that?
>Ugh, this is like another mommy war post.Is being a SAHM hard? It depends on everyone’s individual circumstances. It IS a job, though, because you can’t just let the kids run rampantly wild, shoeless through the neighborhood, pockets of sugary treats to get them through… though it’s tempting. You can’t say working is harder, because some jobs are easier, some harder. I have a friend who makes six figures, works in a low stress environment and is home by 3. I envy her her job. Most people can leave their jobs, though. We’re ‘on’ 24/7 and it can take an emotional toll at times. I’d say it can be more emotionally draining than many jobs, though. I’ve worked in high stress environments, and still, I find this more emotionally draining. Saying that, I’m glad I did it, but when these pups hit four, I’m back to work.
>I think being at home is a lot harder…I try not to let my kids stare at Noggin allllll day…I try take them to the playground & be semi-entertaining…I let them goof off on their own. At the end of EVERY DAY I am way more wiped out than when I ran international media campaigns. I am stupidly tired & behind on laundry & bill paying. I wouldn’t trade it for the world although sometime I swear up & down I would.
