Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

>Am I the only one who finds it odd and creepy that the teen magnet store Hot Topic was showcasing candy panties front and center in its Valentine’s Day display at the mall last night?

>that’s awful! They should be ashamed…
>LOL why, when I was that age, we exchanged handmade construction paper cards. And we walked uphill BOTH WAYS in the snow to deliver them. Still, that’s disgusting.
>being a guy:1st reaction: what flavor?being a father:2nd reaction: yes, that is disturbing!being a husband:3rd reaction: were they on sale?
>Dennis, that sounds JUST like what my hubby would say, lol.And ick, my teen and my tween LOVE HT, ours didn’t have candy pasties out, thankfully!
>When I was in high school, a friend of mine showed me a pair of edible undies she bought, and the next time I saw her she was pregnant. True story. Feel free to pass it along as a mental prophlyactic.Oh and now she’s 22 and has three little girls.
>When I was 16, at a Christmas party elephant gift exchange (we start young, don’t we) we bought our friend a naughty gift from Spencers. The edible panties don’t bother me ONLY because I always personally thought Hot Topic was the store for women over 25 still not over the Goth Thing, and that teens went there for the same reason teens go to Spencers… silly t-shirts and naughty giggly toys.None of us actually expected our friend to use the stuff, we just wanted to embarass her.
>Ladeedah, my original comment was kinda the same…(hate blogger sometimes)As parents, we’re appalled. As a teen, I would have thought it was hilarious.rachel- I had a friend like that, too…her thing was that flavored body gel stuff.
>I find that store freaky and creepy regardless! It frightens me!
>what about the entire line at Victoria’s Secret that they market to teens? It’s called Pink, I’m sure you’ve heard of it.The candy panties are MUCH WORSE though. Pitiful!
>Didn’t see the candy panties at the mall on Valentine’s Day. But I did a little 8 year old holding a “naked lady” bag from Abercrombie AND a box from Build-a-Bear. Nearly broke my heart.
>Did SEE!!! a little girl…
>That’s crazy. Disturbing. Alarming!
