Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

I haven’t been writing on this blog quite as often as I’d like.
But you should know that things are going really, really well.
For the first time in my life, I absolutely love all of my freelance jobs. I’m working a lot, but the work is really fun.
And while entertaining two small children all summer long and running a household and spending quality time with my husband and getting all my freelance work done before deadline isn’t easy, I feel like I’ve achieved that elusive thing I’ve been working hard to find these last few years–
So while there’s a little bit less on this blog this summer than I’d like, perhaps you’ll forgive me when you see what I’ve been doing instead…
I worried at the beginning of the summer that I should have signed up the kids for various camps around town. Now I’m so glad I didn’t. We spent Punky’s first school year in constant motion, getting up and ready for school on time, getting homework and special projects done, carpooling to various extracurriculars and getting everyone into bed by 8:30. We all desperately needed a break.
I love letting the kids sleep in until 8:30 or even 9. I love not having a schedule. I love that we have neighbors on either side of us with kids, and that Punky and Bruiser almost always have friends to play with each day. I love planning special activities each day and I love giving them plenty of downtime before and afterward.
And I love putting them to bed early enough that Hubs and I still have some time for the two of us.
We are having a great, restful summer, and if this blog has to suffer a little bit for it… then I’m okay with that. I hope you are, too.
