Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

Oh y’all. My tooth saga continued this morning, and it was not good. But I’m not going to write about that right now, while my tongue is still numb and my face is… uh… tear-streaked. (Why yes, I did cry all the way home, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. What are you looking at, drivers?!?)
No, right now, I’d rather think about something HAPPY.
So there’s this. My six-year-old son, Bruiser knows a lot– or at least he thinks he does. All day long, he prattles on about everything from which insurance carrier we should be using (based on who has the best commercials, obviously) to the hidden nutritional benefits of Nerds candy to a subject known simply as ‘which is stronger.’ (Car or truck? Spongebob or Patrick? UFO or Sumo Wrestler? Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader? A policeman or a fireman? The combinations are ENDLESS. Trust me. I know.)
Anyway, the other day as Bruiser followed up a filibuster on why he should own a $400 LEGO Starship with an explanation of why babies are born without hair, I had an a-ha moment.
Since Bruiser loves ‘splaining so much, I SHOULD LET HIM ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. And just in case you’re still skeptical of his special powers, I present to you this undeniable proof of his ability:
Seriously? All that blood in PG movies was just ketchup?! HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?
So if you have a question you’d like Bruiser to answer, leave it in the comments. I’ll ask him a few of them and video his response.
This is a golden opportunity, so don’t let it pass you by!
After all, he’s six! HE MAY NEVER BE THIS SMART AGAIN.

Hi Bruiser,
I know kids get bored with the questions adults that they don’t know very well ask them, like “How old are you?” “Do you like school?”
What are some better questions adults can ask kids?
My only child just went away to college in another state and I miss him very much. Can you tell me what I can do to feel better until I see him again?
What’s the best thing a person can do for someone else?
Bruiser, what’s a good way to get my 10 year old son to keep his room clean? He has Legos and books and toys everywhere–I can’t even get in there without stepping on something!
Very cute! I like his reaction to you pushing the “potty words”. If I think of a question I will come back and post it.
It’s really sad when you are outclassed by your six-year-old isn’t it? 😉
Bruiser – I have a puppy who loves to bite when playing. How can I teach her to stop? Did you dog bite when she was a puppy?
Hi Bruiser,
I hope you have some good advice for me. Part of my job is to double-check other people’s work and fix their mistakes. Sometimes I feel impatient when people keep making the same mistakes over and over again. How can I get them to listen to the correct way to do something and then do it correctly the next time? Also, how can I learn to be more patient with my co-workers? Thank you for your help!
I’m seriously wondering why we have eyebrows. I mean?!
LOL!! I can’t wait to hear what he has to say to this one!
Hi Bruiser!
How do you get kids to stop interrupting while youre speaking? My kids werent allowed to interrupt…so I dont know how to get my niece and nephews to see how rude it is (ages 11-3 yrs old). Thanks thought that maybe someone their age could help me figure out why they like to interrupt…
Bruiser, what do you think Heaven looks like?
I would like to ask Bruiser what he likes to do for fun. And what’s his favorite thing about going to church.
