Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

1. He may show interest in watching an older sibling go to the potty. He may shout, “Da Poo poo in da potty!” during that time.
2. He may tell you when he needs a diaper change. This is a very important step on the road to potty training.
3. He will stay dry for 3-4 hours. Until your todler can do this, he is not ready to potty train.
4. He can dress himself. When your toddler has the ability to pull his pants up and down, it is time to start potty training in earnest.
5. He will take off his diaper by himself the moment you leave the room to put a few things away, poop on the carpet, step in it, walk all around your den, then shout “Ewww! Gross! Ewwww! Ewww! Ewww!” until you come back around the corner a minute later to find a scene that looks and smells like Armaggeddon. This is a sign that your child is ready to potty train- and that you need to invest in professional carpet cleaning, because you will find that supermarket carpet odor neutralizers just aren’t gonna do the job.
Any questions?
