Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

This post was written in partnership with Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
We all know of a few restaurants where, no matter the location, we’re guaranteed to get a great meal. One of my family’s favorites is Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
I have never had a lunch or dinner at Cheddar’s I didn’t like — and that’s precisely why I’m happy to tell you all about some of the new Summer Flavors you can find on the Cheddar’s menu this season. (I’m also happy to give you a link to a coupon for a FREE 5-piece Chicken Tender Sampler and to give one of you a $50 Cheddar’s gift card — Keep reading for details!)
The food at Cheddar’s tastes better because it’s prepared from scratch in their kitchen each day. Trust me when I tell you that you can taste the difference! The freshness and quality of the ingredients is obvious, and it comes at a price that won’t blow your dining out budget.
Here are a few of my favorite options on the Cheddar’s menu this summer:
For starters, you owe it to yourself to try Cheddar’s new Knob Creek Peach Smash. This refreshing cocktail includes Knob Creek Bourbon, peach puree, fresh peaches, and sweet and sour hand shaken and poured over ice, with a sprig of mint to keep it Southern. Why yes, I believe I will.
The chicken tenders at Cheddar’s are always a delicious option. You can order them in any combination of Classic, Buffalo, or the new Honey Hot flavor.
Cheddar’s devotees adore the House Smoked Baby Back Ribs, which are slow-smoked in house and grilled with a honey barbecue sauce.
One of our favorite items on the menu is the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich. It is an amazing and decadent treat your whole family will love. You get smoked ham, smoked turkey, and two different kinds of cheeses battered and fried with raspberry preserves and dusted with powdered sugar. If you’ve never tried this sandwich at Cheddar’s, take a leap of faith and order it. You won’t regret it! We ordered the Broccoli Cheese Casserole side with our sandwich and it was also very tasty.
Another can’t-go-wrong classic is the Philly Cheesesteak — sautéed mushrooms, peppers, onions and melted cheese over thinly sliced steak on a toasted hoagie roll.
If you’re watching your calories, not to worry — I had the Salmon and Strawberry Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette dressing and it was excellent. Cheddar’s is known for its salmon; mine was perfectly prepared.
Another lighter option is Cheddar’s Citrus Miso Glazed Salmon. Served over a bed of ginger rice, this entire dish is under 600 calories, proving you don’t have to sacrifice taste to watch what you eat.
What better way to celebrate summer with your family than with Cheddar’s Legendary Monster Cookie? This dessert is every bit as good as it looks!
Our own in-house judges gave this dessert a TEN.
Hungry for Cheddar’s now? I can help. I’ve got a coupon good for a FREE 5-piece Chicken Tenders appetizer with the purchase of one adult entree.
I’m also giving away a $50 Cheddar’s gift card to one lucky Suburban Turmoil reader. To enter, leave a comment on this post between now and July 2nd, telling me your favorite item on the Cheddar’s menu. I will choose a winner at random.
Good luck!
