>Woods Walk
>Today, we took the little ones to Warner Park for a walk in the woods. Warner Park has a few trails that are perfect for little ones, and even has trail guides with points of interest for children.
The kids were thrilled.
I absolutely love Warner Park during every season and am so grateful to live less than ten minutes away from the nation’s largest city park. My children are pretty much growing up here. This is what I do for them in lieu of buying an expensive playset for our yard.
Here is what Bruiser looked like for much of our adventure.
And here is what Punky didn’t look like- however, she graciously agreed to pose for one photo op. She smiles often, but almost never for photographs.
Can you guess what this is?
Bruiser was fascinated by all the wild strawberries growing in the grass.
And I was fascinated by these wildflowers, in perfect bloom.
This is my typical view of Punky when we’re at the park together. Always running ahead, looking for the next adventure. Yes, I realize her hair is too long, but she wants it to look like “Rapunzel’s hair,” and you know what? Why not? What’s it to me?
At the bird blind, one of our favorite places. What do you think they’re looking at?

It was a chipmunk! A very fat chipmunk.
My favorite moment of the walk? Hanging over the path was an enormous, perfectly spun spiderweb.
This is the best shot of it I could get. It was wondrous.
And that was our day at the park.
