Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

>I love how the Internet puts so many of my mom blogging friends in the spotlight. I can’t even count how many times I’ve opened a magazine and seen a mom blogger I know featured in its pages, or turned on the Today show and spotted a blogging friend, or been listening to NPR and heard a familiar blogger’s voice.
But if I’m honest, I have to admit that along with the admiration, I sometimes feel the tiniest pang of envy when I see my friends on CNN or in Real Simple– because I’ve come to believe that I suffer from “always the bridesmaid” syndrome when it comes to bloggy fame. Yes, I’ve been interviewed by NPR and the Wall Street Journal… but I didn’t make it into either story. I was photographed for the London Times… but the final version of the article didn’t include me. The Tyra Show e-mailed once and asked if I wanted to be a guest… but I didn’t get back to them fast enough. I did manage to make an appearance in the New York Times…. if you count that blurry dot in the back of the photo. I’ve almost gotten at least three television jobs over the last few months… but of course, they didn’t pan out.
It’s enough to make a blogger want to set her hair on fire.
But.
Last week, my luck turned around.
I don’t usually look at my stats (unless you count search terms, which are always entertaining), but for some reason, I noticed a large number of hits coming from Washington, DC, and when I investigated, I saw this…
Someone has been visiting Suburban Turmoil straight from the EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
Which could only mean that…
OBAMA READS MY BLOG!!!
Or I suppose it could be Rahm Emmanuel… but no!
I’m pretty sure it’s OBAMA!!!
I can only imagine how he gasped with shock after reading the Big Baby interview, or shook his head and thought of what’s to come with Sasha and Malia after reading my completely fictitious account of what happened here on Thankgiving morning.
In fact, he was so drawn in by my accounts of cheaters and baby poop that he came back for a visit that afternoon!

And that’s why I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before an invitation to a state dinner shows up in my inbox- I mean, can you even imagine what a hit my Martina and Green Hills Moms Club stories would be with the Senators’ wives?
Before you know it, my new URL will be www.suburbanturmoil.gov and I’ll be appointed as our nation’s First Blogger. And OMG, I’d love to see the look on Heather Armstrong’s face when that happens!
So ladies? You can keep your Oprah and your Matt and Meredith and your Momversations and your Walmart pimpage.
I’ve got to go buy a few Chanel knockoff suits and make sure I can still say the Pledge of Allegiance.
