Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

Dear Lindsay,
Happy New Year! It’s lucky number 17 for KIDZ BOP! As you continue to work on your winter posts, I thought that KIDZ BOP 17 might make a rockin’ Valentine’s Day gift idea for kids, or a perfect dance party soundtrack for those cold snowy days stuck inside.
Best,
Tanya
Dear Tanya,
Thanks so much for writing!
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to pass on reviewing Kidz Bop 17 because I’ve heard that every time a Kidz Bop song plays, a demon in hell gets his pitchfork. I believe your company addressed this story last year and dismissed it as an urban legend, but I can’t shake the idea that there’s more to it than rumor. I mean, we’ve all seen the impact that repeated playings of Kidz Bop can have on a young child.
I have it on good authority that this poor kid is now only only able to communicate using lyrics from the Kidz Bop version of Brittney Spears’ Circus. Obviously, it’s too late for him.
But my children still have a chance- a chance to grow up without ever once hearing the Kidz Bop rendition of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi. And I owe it to them to at least try protect their innocence (not to mention my sanity) by creating for them a Kidz Bop-free environment– yes, even when they’re clamoring for a perfect dance party soundtrack on cold snowy days stuck inside.
So thanks, but no thanks, Tanya. Might I suggest you pitch this CD to Catherine Connors from Her Bad Mother instead? I think it might be right up her alley.
Best,
Lindsay Ferrier
