  1. Kimmyann says:

    >This country should have drop boxes to IMHO..maybe it would stop people from throwing their babies in the trash.

  2. Joan S. says:

    >We HAVE a program where a newborn can be left at a hospital, no questions asked. Isn’t that the same thing?

  3. Smiling Mom says:

    >I’ve wanted to drop mine off before too! 🙂 Then then they went to sleep that night and they looked so cute. I guess I’ll keep them for a little while longer! Hehe. I am gathering recipes at my new WordPress site. Come on by and take a look. Leave a recipe if you’d like!

  4. >Joan, Joan, Joan. You don’t have a dropbox, do you? No? I didn’t think so. The whole notion of a dropbox for babies is so much more intriguing than the old baby-on-the-doorstep schtick.

  5. >And why isn’t anyone mentioning the fact that THREE SQUIRTS OF HAND SANITIZER CAN KILL A TODDLER?!

  6. Dawn says:

    >I HATE Hollis Gillespie. Ugh! She’s so snarky and bitchy and just down right mean. But, that was a sweet story and redeems her ever so slightly. Although, equating crazy with Alzheimer’s is a bit insensitive.

  7. >Wait, mean in her writing or in real life? You live in her town, don’t you Dawn?

  8. >In Phoenix, they have actual drop boxes for babies at several of their hospitals. Too many babies were being found in dumpters, etc. They look like a big metal drawer that is set into the wall of the hospital. And just like the article, the babies are put right into an incubator while an alarm goes off for the hospital staff to come get the baby and after a short stay (unless longer is needed) in the NICU, the baby is put up for adoption. The hospitals that don’t have the drop boxes have the no questions asked policy like Joan mentioned.

  9. Butrfly4404 says:

    >That little comment kind of went awry, huh?MN has the ‘open door’ thing or whatever you want to call it for leaving newborns, too. It still doesn’t stop those selfish evil bitches from, say, stabbing their infants to death or dumping them in the Mississippi. What was I saying, now? The rage has overtaken my brain.Oh, right: Hand Sanitizers! O.M.G!!!!! So, I shouldn’t have the ECONOMY sized bottle in my KIDS’ BATHROOM!?!?!? I never really questioned if it was ‘safe’ or not – I just assumed they wouldn’t WANT to eat it. But I guess I never thought that my six year old would try to open the toilet bowl cleaner WITH HER MOUTH either (she wanted to ‘help’ me clean the house). There…just removed it (and all the cleaners were removed about 30 seconds after I hung up with poison control the first time, so please – no trolls). Much rather have kids with nasty hands than kids in the hospital!!Thanks, Lindsay!!

  10. Denise says:

    >I’ve just removed the hand sanitizer from the kiddo’s room too. Thanks for the link!

  11. Rachael Anne says:

    >Have you seen the follow up dropbox story, where a 3 year old boy was put in the drop box and informed hospital employees that his daddy brought him?

  12. Anonymous says:

    >I noticed your husband did a story tonite ont he hand sanitizer. I wonder where he got that idea from? 😛

  13. Worker Mommy says:

    >Thats about as scary as the new meth called Strawberry Quick that apparently resembles candy/pop rocks and is obviously geared towards kids. Candy Meth

  14. Anonymous says:

    >There’s a dropbox here in my town too (I live in Raleigh). It must be a new trend.

  15. Jenny Rough says:

    >I’m a picky eater – maybe I’ll make those muffins for myself!

  16. Anonymous says:

    >OK, I just spent an HOUR watching INTERNET TV thanks to you! LOL
