Hi! I'm Lindsay Ferrier. You might remember me from a blog called Suburban Turmoil. Well, a lot has changed since I started that blog in 2005. My kids grew up, I got a divorce, and I finally left the suburbs for the heart of Nashville, where I feel like I truly belong. I have no idea what the future will hold and you know what? I'm okay with that. Thrilled, actually. It was time for something totally different.

“I had my sad face on at Kroger because I wasn’t feeling good,” four-year-old Punky announced from the backseat after a recent grocery trip.
“No,” I reminded her. “You had your sad face on because I wouldn’t let you buy a ball. And that wasn’t very nice of you to act that way.”
“Oh yeah,” she said. She thought for a moment. “Hey, Mommy!”
“Yes?”
“Maybe we could buy some more money!”
“That might be difficult,” I said. I wasn’t in the mood to explain why you couldn’t buy money with money on the way home from an entirely-too-long grocery experience.
“I bet Daddy could do it!” Punky continued. “He’s really good at buying money!”
“Oh.”
“Maybe Daddy could buy lots and lots of money!” Punky continued excitedly. “Lots and lots and lots of money!”
“Yeah, maybe,” I said.
“And maybe, if you give him a back massage, he’ll give you some!” she finished triumpantly.
“You know, Punky?” I laughed. “I think you’re actually right on that one.”
